The following stages of production show our thorough and comprehensive approach to the process of commissioning a piece of jewellery.

Stages of a rings production

Stage 1 - Design

From the initial design stage of a pencil sketch, which can either be your design or ours.

Stage 2 - Choice of gemstone

We can supply an extensive range of diamonds in all sizes, cuts and grades to suit your individual budget. Details regarding your diamond selected, including the 4 C's (cut, colour, clarity and carat weight). Certified diamonds on request.
We can also source most types of precious and semi-precious gemstones.

Stage 3 - Creation

Creation of a wax model showing the design in its three dimensional form, to confirm overall profile, prior to being manufactured in its 'metal' form.

Stage 4 - Fitting

A viewing is offered at this stage for the customer to confirm the rings fit.  If the design is being made to compliment an existing ring i.e: engagement & wedding band, the newly created ring will have its final fitting.

Stage 5 - Hallmarking

The ring is hallmarked in London with our own registered VJG stamp.

Stage 6 - Gemstone setting

If the ring includes gemstones, this would be completed by our diamond setter.

Stage 7 - Polishing

The final stage of manufacture is the ring being polished to bring out the natural beauty of the metal to a lustrous shine.

Remounting Production

Images show the 'before and after' of two ring remounts.

Existing pieces of sentimental, unworn or broken jewellery can be transformed into new desirable designs.  We can remount the original gemstones and sometimes incorporate the original metal if suitable. Commissions of a handmade piece of jewellery require approx. 6-8 weeks.  Please allow for seasonal adjustments.
